Dragon fans will discover terrible reptiles as well as knights, princesses and dinosaurs along with other creatures from time to time. 250 Dragon puzzles teaches the basics of mathematics, trains logical thinking and works on observation skills.

We’ll check what can happen when nobody is looking … A book in the form of an album about places and items in the home familiar to every child: the bathtub, fridge, dishwasher, washing machine, etc. The author presents them as fairytale lands teeming with life, populated by various everyday characters that every child knows about—police officers, firemen, life-guards, scientists, skiers, musicians, pirates, filmmakers, explorers, etc. The story revolves around a scout team on a trip through these different lands. In each place, one of the team members gets lost. In each chapter the reader has to find the scout as well as lost animals or thieves on the run—the content provides hints on what or whom we are looking for. Of course, in the end the whole team will get together again.

The background is colored-in – children see the picture at once and they do not have to paint the background (children often get discouraged when they have to colour a lot of background). The ”brainteasers” series features tasks to develop a child’s spatial imagination. In order to solve the tasks from part 3 (age 10+) some awareness of geometry is an advantage. All six books can be recommended as fun to make you think, whether at home, in the waiting room, or during a trip. However, they can also be used successfully at school, during the lesson or in a mathematics club.
The “Funny Labyrinths” series offers tasks for very young children (4–6 years). Each labyrinth features a command that should be read by the parents, but the child can solve the task independently because it is easy to work out what to do intuitively. Each maze is accompanied by an attractive, colourful illustration. All three books can be recommended as fun to make you think, whether at home, in the waiting room, or during a trip.
